PotashCorp Contributes $100,000 to Portage Atlantic
Published: July 2008
PotashCorp donated $100,000 towards a capital campaign to improve and expand the Cassidy Lake drug and alcohol treatment center that serves Atlantic Canada youth.

On behalf of Portage Atlantic’s “Making Miracles Happen” campaign, co-chairpersons Dr. Frank Wilson and Dr. Roderick Nolan accepted the check from PotashCorp New Brunswick General Manager Mark Fracchia. With this donation, PotashCorp is working to improve the communities where the company operates.

“Helping youth overcome their addictions so they can return to their communities and lead productive lives is an important endeavor that PotashCorp is happy to support,” Fracchia said.

Portage is a non-profit charitable organization dedicated to the social rehabilitation of young substance abusers. This treatment center has assisted in the recovery of hundreds of youth from Atlantic Canada since its opening in 1996. There is an increasing demand for rehabilitation services and “Making Miracles Happen” aims to reach a goal of raising $1,250,000 to upgrade and expand the facility.
