Many PotashCorp sites received awards for their community involvement in 2006:
- Trinidad received the United Way Trinidad Award for being the second most successful fundraiser and a plaque from California Primary School for its support.
- Joplin received a Platinum Award from the United Way of Southwest Missouri for employee contributions.
- Augusta was recognized at the 2006 annual meeting of the United Way of the Central Savannah River Area in the categories of Top Corporate Gifts and Top Campaigns with under 300 Employees.
- Geismar achieved first place in area pledges in the March of Dimes' Walk America campaign.
- Patience Lake, Cory and Allan shared with the Saskatoon corporate office the Campaign Chair's Choice Award for the best overall performance by a workplace campaign in the 2006 United Way of Saskatoon and Area campaign.
- The Northbrook Corporate Center was named the Top Corporate Citizen by the North Suburban United Way, part of the Metropolitan United Way of Chicago.
- Aurora received the Public Safety Award from the Town of Aurora, the Distinguished Service Award from the Beaufort County Committee of 100, the Hero's Award from the American Red Cross, the Pacesetter Award from the United Way and three Gold Awards from the American Cancer Societies of Beaufort, Pamlico, and Carteret counties.
A number of sites received health and safety awards:
- White Springs' Swift Creek mine received an Outstanding Mine award in 2006 from the Sentinels of Safety program.
- Lima received all four safety awards offered by the West Central Safety Council in 2006 for its 2005 safety performance.
- New Brunswick won the overall New Brunswick/Nova Scotia Mine Rescue Competition for 2006. It received the New Brunswick Mining Association Mineral Industry Award for Lowest Severity, and the Safety Equipment and Accessories Trophy for Lowest Frequency in 2005.
- Rocanville received the Certificate of Achievement from the Saskatchewan Mining Association for making Saskatchewan workplaces safer.
- Patience Lake won the surface category of the 2006 Emergency Response and Mine Rescue Competition in Saskatchewan. It received the Saskatchewan Mining Association Safety Award for a zero competition rating, which reflects rates of lost-time frequency and lost-time injury severity.
- Lanigan was runner-up in the underground category at Saskatchewan's annual Emergency Response and Mine Rescue Competition in 2006.
- Weeping Water received the Platinum Award of Honor with Distinction from the National Safety Council of Greater Omaha and the Sentinels of Safety Award from the Mine Safety and Health Administration in 2006.
