Employees

PotashCorp surveys employees annually to learn about issues important to this key stakeholder group.

In 2006, several company locations completed the Behavioral Science Technology (BST) Organizational Culture Diagnostic Instrument (OCDI®) survey, which included customized employee engagement questions. This survey will be conducted annually on a rotating basis.

The company achieved a combined average score of 66 percent (responses of "Agree" or "Strongly Agree") on the employee engagement questions. In general, the findings point to company strengths in job knowledge/competency and customer service at almost all locations. Employee commitment to quality also rated very high. Areas to improve included employee communications and greater opportunities for professional growth.

One of the company's 2007 goals is to address the issues raised in the survey in order to improve the combined average score by at least 10 percent. This will require improvements in the lowest ranked engagement factors, while maintaining the areas of strength.
