Operations

This anhydrous ammonia storage and distribution facility located in the Georgia Port Authority is engaged in the transfer of ammonia from ships to storage.

Significant Achievements

Savannah has been injury-free for 10 years.

The emergency notification system was relocated due to changing port conditions.

Community Relations

The terminal is a member of the Savannah Chamber of Commerce.

Community Contributions

Cash donations to local community organizations in 2006 totaled $2,813. The principal recipients were Special Olympics, Georgia National Guard, Children's Wish Foundation, National Children's Cancer Society and Georgia Association for the Blind.

In-kind contributions of $499 went to Port Wentworth Elementary School.

Local Procurement

The value of all goods, materials and services purchased locally in 2006 (excluding raw materials and energy) was $1.6 million, which represented 70 percent of total procurement.
