Fosfatos do Brasil uses imported phosphoric acid and limestone to produce microgranulated dicalcium phosphate (DCP). It has an annual capacity of 121 thousand tons of this animal feed supplement.

Significant Achievements

The new Lavras warehouse and bagging unit in the State of Minas Gerais were completed and opened in 2006.

A technical sales seminar in Goiania provided an opportunity for agents and representatives to develop a better understanding of PCS products and the ways in which farmers could use them. The company had an opportunity to develop a better working relationship with agents and representatives and address their questions, suggestions and complaints.

Community Relations

Fosfatos do Brasil held two public meetings in 2006, which discussed security and safety, social projects and environmental issues.

Two meetings were held with the environmental agency to discuss complaints about dical odor and improvements in the treatment of sewage effluent.

Environmental Initiatives

A new sewage treatment system was installed in 2006.

The height of the wet scrubber chimney was raised to improve the odor from the stack.

Energy Initiatives
