PotashCorp's sustainability reporting practices are the best in Canada, according to SustainAbility, a global consultancy firm and independent think-tank that specializes in corporate responsibility and sustainable development.
PotashCorp ranked 33rd among the top 50 global companies in the biannual benchmark study, the highest ranking for a Canadian company. A report on the findings is published in partnership by the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) and Standard & Poors.
"Being recognized as a top global reporter means we're living our Core Values" says Tom Pasztor, Senior Director of Corporate and Government Relations. "We strive to operate with integrity and accountability, making people and environment our overriding concern."
Pasztor attributes PotashCorp's success in its sustainability practices to a willingness to be transparent. "Good reporting means talking about the good and the bad," says Pasztor. "We report our successes, but we also talk about areas where we have more work to do. Transparency reduces uncertainty in people's minds and brings real value to stakeholders."
PotashCorp has received several awards for its annual Sustainability Report and is listed on the FTSE4Good Index.
