Wayne Brownlee was appointed Executive Vice President, Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer in 2006. Prior to that he served PotashCorp seven years as Senior Vice President, Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer. He has also held the positions of Senior Vice President, Expansion and Development; Vice President, Expansion and Development; and Director, Business Development.
In 1989 he coordinated the privatization of PotashCorp, which transformed it from a provincial Crown corporation to a publicly traded company. As head of expansion and development efforts in the 1990s, he was instrumental in the acquisition of more than US$4 billion in assets.
Prior to joining PotashCorp, Mr. Brownlee served in the Saskatchewan Department of Finance, including three years as Associate Deputy Minister of the Treasury Board Division. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Science and a master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Saskatchewan.
Mr. Brownlee is a member of the Dean’s Advisory Council of the Edwards School of Business at the University of Saskatchewan. He is also a director of the Saskatoon Community Foundation and the Saskatoon Public Schools Foundation and is Co-Chair of the Wanuskewin Heritage Park fundraising campaign.
