When the city of Joplin, MO, was devastated by an F5-magnitude tornado in May 2011, PotashCorp was there to help with search and rescue efforts. Within 24 hours, Emergency Response Teams (ERT) from PotashCorp’s Weeping Water, Cincinnati and Marseilles facilities joined the Joplin ERT to search for survivors and assist local emergency responders. One year later, Joplin is rebuilding and life is moving on. Using the same courage PotashCorp ERT members showed, people are finding the strength to make their hometown better than ever. As the residents of Joplin have proven, it will take more than a tornado to break the spirit of their community.
