PotashCorp to Match Proceeds of Flood Relief Concert

Filed under:

Saskatoon, Saskatchewan - Organizers of the Flood Relief Concert are thrilled to have PotashCorp on board for this special fundraiser. PotashCorp announced today that the company will match every dollar raised by the Flood Relief Concert, up to a maximum of $20,000.

"PotashCorp is very happy to partner with our local musicians for this incredible fund-raising concert," said Rhonda Speiss, Manager of Corporate Philanthropy. "PotashCorp is a global company, but Saskatchewan is our home and we're pleased to play a role in helping our communities through the crises created by this extreme weather. We applaud the musicians, the volunteers and other donors for their tremendous community support and look forward to the showcase of talent by our province's own professional artists."

The concert is set for Monday, July 19 at Third Avenue United Church in Saskatoon. Seven Saskatchewan musicians came together this past weekend after the devastating weather hit communities across the province. Working with the Saskatchewan Division of the Canadian Red Cross, all proceeds from the concert will go to the communities that have been affected by the floods.

The night will feature Saskatchewan favourites: Andrea Menard, Jay Semko (Northern Pikes), Eileen Laverty, Jeffery Straker, Codie Prevost, Carrie Catherine and Stephen Maguire.

Doors open at 7 p.m.; showtime is 7:30 p.m.

“This concert just keeps getting better,” said Jen Pederson, Canadian Red Cross Acting Operations Manager for North Central Saskatchewan. “The generosity of the people and the companies in this province never ceases to amaze me – when there are people in need, Saskatchewan gives. We are grateful for the support of PotashCorp and their employees for this gift, and for their tremendous support over the years. This gift will make a significant difference in the lives of people affected by severe weather right here at home.”

Tickets for the concert are $20 for adults and $10 for children (12 & under). Available at McNally Robinson or online at Picatic.com/ticket/floodreliefconcert.

PotashCorp is the world’s largest fertilizer enterprise by capacity producing the three primary plant nutrients: potash, phosphate and nitrogen.  The company has 5 potash operations in Saskatchewan and its head office in Saskatoon.
