Saskatoon, Saskatchewan – Potash Corporation of Saskatchewan Inc. (PotashCorp) was recognized with the top honor in Canadian reporting at the 2014 Corporate Reporting Awards Gala in Toronto. The awards are presented each year by the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA Canada) to promote and recognize distinction in corporate reporting.

In addition to the receiving the Overall Award of Excellence in Corporate Reporting, PotashCorp was the recipient of the Award of Excellence in Financial Reporting for the sixth year in a row, being judged to be the best among entrants in all industry sectors. The company also received the Award of Excellence for Corporate Reporting in the Mining sector – an award the company has consistently received since the mid-2000s – and an Honorable Mention in Corporate Governance Disclosure.

“This is a great honor and an accomplishment that highlights the efforts of many people across our company,” said Denita Stann, Vice President, Investor and Public Relations. “At the heart of this recognition is a team focused on ensuring PotashCorp provides our investors and communities with the information they need to understand, assess and gain confidence in how we run our business.”

The CPA Awards are considered the most prestigious and coveted national awards for corporate reporting in Canada. Judges of the awards work in the fields of accounting, communications, finance, investor relations and sustainability.

PotashCorp is the world’s largest crop nutrient company and plays an integral role in global food production. The company produces the three essential nutrients required to help farmers grow healthier, more abundant crops. With the global population rising and diets improving in developing countries, these nutrients offer a responsible and practical solution to meeting the long-term demand for food. PotashCorp is the largest producer, by capacity, of potash and one of the largest producers of nitrogen and phosphate. While agriculture is its primary market, the company also produces products for animal nutrition and industrial uses. Common shares of Potash Corporation of Saskatchewan Inc. are listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange and the New York Stock Exchange.
