PotashCorp Matching First $500,000 in Cash Donations to Saskatchewan’s Food Banks

Published: November 20, 2017

Saskatoon, Saskatchewan – PotashCorp announced Monday it is again matching cash donations made to the Food Banks of Saskatchewan this holiday season – which will help them keep their shelves stocked with nutritious food as the new year begins.

“Each year, people across our province support this campaign without hesitation,” said Jochen Tilk, PotashCorp President and CEO, as the campaign kicked off Monday in Saskatoon. “We appreciate their generosity and willingness to support their neighbors who need a hand. Working together, we are helping to provide Saskatchewan food banks with the resources they need to continue serving their communities.”

PotashCorp will match the first $500,000 in cash donations to Saskatchewan food banks through December 31st. Since 2010, PotashCorp’s matching gift campaigns have helped raise nearly $17.5 million, with PotashCorp contributing $6.5 million.

“With PotashCorp once again leading this major matching campaign, food banks across Saskatchewan can continue to play a vital role in the health and well-being of the communities we serve,” said Laurie O’Connor, representing the Food Banks of Saskatchewan. “We invite the public to give generously this holiday season because every donation is matched dollar for dollar.”

As the world’s largest crop nutrient company, PotashCorp plays an integral role in global food production. The company produces the three essential nutrients required to help farmers grow healthier, more abundant crops. With global population rising and diets improving in developing countries, crop nutrients such as potash, phosphates and nitrogen offer a responsible and practical solution to help produce the food we need, from the land we have.
