The second year of our NRCS Conservation Innovation Grant (CIG) brought continuation of stakeholder meetings, decisions on products to be generated, and sharing of ideas on fertilizer best management practices through InfoAg Conference presentations, poster presentation at the Soil and Water Conservation Society National Conference CIG Showcase, and numerous presentations at other meetings during the year. Review of current recommendations, new technology, and recent research continued as the various stakeholder groups, led by the respective IPNI regional Directors, continued toward completion of the revision suggestions for fertilizer recommendations for the six selected cropping systems for the project.

IPNI and FAR organized three InfoAg Conferences in 2007. In February, regional conferences were held in Starkville, Mississippi, and Kennewick, Washington. They focused on precision agriculture applications, fertilizer best management practices, and information management for crops in those respective regions. They also served as outreach programs for our USDA-NRCS Conservation Innovation Grant (CIG) on Fertilizer Best Management Practices. In July, we presented InfoAg 2007 in Springfield, Illinois, which was the ninth in our series of national/international InfoAg Conferences concentrating on the applied aspects of precision agriculture and information management. Again, part of this program was an outreach component of our USDA-NRCS CIG project. These three conferences brought together a total of about 1,000 participants and provided excellent venues for sharing of ideas and experience among farmers, their advisers, and technology providers from throughout the world.
