About 150 leading agribusinesses crop advisers, ag consultants, and research and extension workers participated in the transfer of information on site-specific management and precision ag technologies.
Development and Implementation of Fertilizer BMP Guides for Six Selected Major Cropping Systems

The six regional projects have each had at least one Stakeholder Team Meeting and have begun the process of reviewing current fertility nutrient management recommendations and guidelines. In each case, NRCS, Extension, farmers, CCAs, fertilizer dealers, and other stakeholders are involved. Over 100 cooperators are included in the project. The InfoAg Mid-South and InfoAg Northwest Conferences served as venues for presenting some of the information gathered to date. A major part of the InfoAg 2007 Conference in Springfield, Illinois, July 10-12, 2007, will be devoted to sharing information from this project. Details are on the project website:

The next international Information Agriculture conference will be InfoAg 2007, set for July 10-12 in Springfield, Illinois. Details about the program, exhibits, and registration are available on-line at
http://infoag.org. The program will focus on field experience with precision farming, remote sensing, auto-guidance systems, and other communications and information management applications on the farm. Over 50 exhibits will showcase the latest in available technology and services. A pre-conference field tour will provide opportunities to see these tools in action in the field. Attendees from throughout North America and many other countries are expected. This conference will also feature special programs on soil conservation innovations and impacts of biofuels on crop production systems.

IPNI and FAR organized this event for the first time in the Northwest U.S., attracting several hundred participants. New equipment for prevision application of fertilizer, techniques for identifying variable yield potential in fields, and experiences of growers producing grain, fruit, vegetable, and potato crops were featured.
