The Canadian Coalition for Good Governance (CCGG) recognized PotashCorp for exceptional disclosure practices in its 2006 proxy circular.
The CCGG recently released the 2006 version of its "Best Practices in Shareholder Communication" document, which reviews 150 companies' proxy circulars and highlights those demonstrating best practices disclosures.
PotashCorp was cited for exemplary and detailed disclosure of director orientation and continuing education, interlocking directorships, and director performance assessment.
"Our reputation is based on the quality of information we provide," said Betty-Ann Heggie, Senior Vice President, Corporate Relations at PotashCorp. "It's an honor to have the Canadian Coalition for Good Governance recognize the importance we put on transparency, and the steps we take to ensure that's communicated to our stakeholders."
CCGG is made up of 50 of Canada's leading institutional investors. The coalition was formed to promote good governance practices in the companies owned by its members.
