Hoffman Elected to PotashCorp Board of Directors

Saskatoon, Saskatchewan – Potash Corporation of Saskatchewan Inc. (PotashCorp) announced today that Mr. Charles S. Hoffman of Lincolnshire, IL has been elected to the company's Board of Directors at its annual meeting of shareholders. The company also announced the retirement of Mr. Fred Blesi from its Board.

Mr. Hoffman, 59, is an export consultant and a former senior executive of IMC Global Inc. He is also a former Chairman and President of the Phosphate Chemicals Export Association and a former Chairman of Canpotex.

"We thank Mr. Blesi for his leadership and diligent service to PotashCorp, and we wish him the very best in retirement," said Board Chairman Dallas Howe. "We welcome Mr. Hoffman and look forward to sharing in the breadth of knowledge and experience he will bring to the Board."

Potash Corporation of Saskatchewan Inc. is the world's largest fertilizer enterprise producing the three primary plant nutrients and a leading supplier to three distinct market categories: agriculture, with the largest capacity in the world in potash, second largest in nitrogen and third largest in phosphate; animal nutrition, with the world's largest capacity in phosphate feed ingredients; and industrial chemicals, as the largest global producer of industrial nitrogen products and the world's largest capacity for production of purified industrial phosphoric acid.
