PotashCorp's Governance Ranked Among Best in Canada
December 14, 2007
PotashCorp’s governance practices were ranked among the best in Canada by Report On Business magazine’s review of Canadian corporate leadership.
The annual ranking reviewed 270 companies on the S&P/TSX composite index and assessed their performance on governance issues including board composition, compensation, shareholders rights and disclosure.
PotashCorp’s combined score of 93 placed eighth on the list, well ahead of the average score of 68. In addition to top 10 rankings in the first three categories, PotashCorp earned a perfect score in the disclosure category.
“We think we have a really active responsibility to be very transparent and to disclose for our shareholders - and other stakeholders - as much as we can about our business,” Mary Mogford, head of the PotashCorp’s corporate governance committee, told Report on Business.
