Historical Growth Rate between 3-4 Percent

During the early stages of the modern potash industry, from 1962 to 1988, the average annual consumption growth rate was 4.4 percent. This pattern ended with the collapse of the Soviet Union, which flooded the export market with product previously used in FSU countries.

While the average rate of growth from 1993 to 2005 was 3.3 percent, stronger economies and growing biofuel markets may make 4 percent growth more realistic in the future.
