Potash Demand Rebound Expected

In late 2006, external industry consultants were forecasting 2007 potash demand growth of 7 percent, with over half of that targeted for restocking depleted inventories and the rest feeding new consumption growth.

Early this year, however, it became clear that global demand would grow even more, with our estimates placing growth between 12-16 percent. Beyond 2007, it could approach 4 percent annually, depending on the impact of biofuels.
