Phosphate is a valuable contributor to plant and animal development, and, in its industrial form, is an essential ingredient in consumer goods such as metal brighteners, cola drinks and pharmaceuticals. Not all phosphate companies, however, can economically produce all products.

PotashCorp's access to high-quality, low-impurity phosphate rock gives us the flexibility to meet the needs of fertilizer, feed and industrial customers. When phosphate fertilizer fundamentals are tight, we can direct more of our production to this market. In other conditions, we focus on stable, higher-margin animal feed and industrial markets.
