Benefits to Strong Economic Growth

The global economy is an important driver of our business, as higher incomes allow a growing population to purchase more and better food. In 2006, healthy economic growth, as measured by gross domestic product (GDP), continued. While global GDP growth was 5.4 percent, the pace was even more dramatic in China, where GDP increased by more than 10 percent and is expected to repeat that in 2007. India’s economy grew by 9.2 percent in 2006 and could surpass that in 2007.
