Nitrogen Production

Nitrogen production begins with natural gas, which is synthesized with steam and air to produce ammonia – the base product for fertilizers, animal feed supplements and industrial products. Urea is the most popular nitrogen fertilizer, and its liquid form is combined with ammonium nitrate to produce nitrogen solutions used in agriculture. Ammonium nitrate, which is a solid, is made from nitric acid and has both industrial and agricultural uses.
