Dear PCS Feed Sales Partner:
In the last newsletter, I mentioned a few ways you could take advantage of free PotashCorp-sponsored programs by simply giving me a call. Those initiatives included the paleontology lesson in a bucket, the HAZMAT railcar and anti-substance abuse talks by PotashCorp's Customer Service Manager D.D. Lewis.
Today, I'd like to tell you about a free feature on the PotashCorp website that can help you, friends, family and your customers have the greenest thumbs in town.
As one of PotashCorp's feed ingredient customers, you're aware of the highly bioavailable feed-grade phosphorus the company provides. However, PotashCorp is actually the worlds' largest fertilizer enterprise, producing the three primary plant nutrients ? nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. So it makes sense that PotashCorp is providing free agronomic advice to the general public through a Gardening and Fertilizer section on its website, http://www.potashcorp.com/learn_about_fertilizer/ gardening_fertilizer/
No longer do farmers alone hold the secrets to proper plant nutrition. The PotashCorp Gardening and Fertilizer feature allows gardeners of even the smallest flowerbed to find out about the best use of plant nutrients.
The website has three sections, "Getting Started," "Fertilizing" and "Ask the Expert". Each section builds working knowledge ? a foundation that is simple to understand and to navigate.
- Getting Started contains useful information about the soil including the role of nutrients, texture and pH. You'll also learn how to take a quality soil sample and get to know your soil type.
- Fertilizing explains the basics about phosphorus, potassium and nitrogen ? three of the most widely used nutrients in fertilizer formulations, why plants require nutrients in specific formulations and how to best apply them during certain times of year.
- "Ask the Expert" puts you in touch via e-mail with PCS Sales' Chief Agronomist, Dr. Kim Polizotto. Feel free to ask him any gardening or fertilizer questions, and be sure to review the questions that others have already asked by browsing Current Questions or Archived Questions links available in the "Ask the Expert" link at http://www.potashcorp.com/learn_about_fertilizer/ gardening_fertilizer/ask_the_expert/
Once you've visited the site, you're sure to come back, time and again, to see what else you can learn. If nothing else, the site will put you in the right frame of mind to begin leafing through gardening catalogues so you can begin to gear up for what could be the greenest growing season you've ever seen.
Sincerely,
Your PCS Sales Representative
