Trinidad
Strategically located to serve the US Gulf Coast, the Caribbean and Latin America, the Trinidad operation greatly benefits from the country’s plentiful and favorably-priced supply of natural gas. The plant is located in an industrial complex on Trinidad's sheltered west coast, and has an annual capacity of 2.4 million tons of ammonia and 781,538 tons of urea. There are 409 employees.
The Trinidad plant produces 5,865 tons of anhydrous ammonia a day and 1,962 tons of granular urea. About 20 percent of the ammonia is supplied to the urea plant as feedstock; the remainder is sold primarily to DAP producers in Florida. The plant can store 100,000 tons NH
3, 65,000 tons urea and ships via oceangoing vessels.
Transportation:
Seaport – The plant is located near the modern Savonetta Pier which can accommodate vessels with a maximum LOA (length overall) of 184 meters (604 feet) with a maximum loaded draft of 11.8 meters (39 feet).
Road – Products are transported by truck on an occasional as-needed basis.
