The plant produces ammonia and urea solids. It has an annual capacity of 2.4 million tons of ammonia.

The site achieved a number of production milestones in 2007, including:
Highest annual ammonia production (2.3 million tons)
Highest total (ammonia and urea) annual production (3.1 million tons)
Highest volume of ammonia shipped in one year (1.9 million tons)
Highest volume of urea shipped in one year (0.8 million tons)
Largest number of ships loaded in one year (172)
Recruitment continued to be a challenge because of the rapid expansion of the energy sector in Trinidad and the shortage of applicants with the necessary training and expertise.
By the end of 2007, the site had achieved 6,871,196 hours worked without a lost-time injury.
The site established an Employee Wellness Facility to complement its Wellness Program.
Community Relations
The Community Awareness and Emergency Response Committee, composed of corporate neighbors, residents and regulatory agency representatives, met approximately 12 times in 2007.
The plant hosted a community public meeting on December 6, 2007. Issues discussed included the Community Risk Assessment Report; development of a community emergency response plan; health and safety issues related to ammonia, methanol and chlorine; safety systems implemented on the Point Lisas Industrial Estate; and employment.
Community Contributions
The value of cash donations to local community organizations from the company and the employees in 2007 totaled US $98,200. The company's contributions totaled $81,300. Major beneficiaries were PCS Starlift and the Lady Hochoy Home Music Makers, Zonal Sports, the University of the West Indies and the United Way. In addition, employees contributed $16,905 to the United Way of Trinidad and Tobago.
The value of in-kind contributions was US $5,500. Beneficiaries included Energy Challenge, United Way, University of the West Indies and University of Trinidad and Tobago.
Education Initiatives
The site provides on-the-job training in collaboration with the University of Trinidad and Tobago, University of the West Indies and technical schools through the placement of engineers and technicians in its trainee programs.
PCS Nitrogen Trinidad Limited has partnered with the California Government Primary School as part of the Point Lisas Industrial Estate Community Awareness and Emergency Response program.
Procurement
Local purchases (excluding raw materials, transportation and electricity) totaled US$ 31.3 million in 2007, which represented 40 percent of procurement.
