Geismar
All PotashCorp Nitrogen plants are implementing the Behavioral Accident Prevention ProcessŪ, a new safety system. Geismar has the best industry safety record in both phosphate and nitrogen areas, 23 years without a lost-time accident. Customer and employee safety is an important priority in all operations, including the loading, transportation and unloading of products. All company safety procedures and all OSHA, DOT, EPA and Coast Guard regulations must be adhered to. The minimum safety requirements are safety glasses, hard hats and proper clothing, including long pants, short-sleeved shirts and appropriate footwear.

Environment:
Although internal audits found all operations to be in compliance, capital projects are minimizing environmental impact. Geismar's continuous effluent water monitoring system, the first in Louisiana and one of only a few in the United States, is improving water systems discharge.

Environment experts conduct regular audits at all plant locations. These audits have proven to be effective tools for measuring progress and setting higher standards of achievement.
