Operations
Cincinnati produces phosphate products for food and technical applications. The plant has a total capacity of 150,000 tons per year.
Significant Achievements
The plant successfully implemented the start-up of a new product production line.
Cincinnati completed negotiation and ratification of a new three-year labor agreement with the local labor union.
The site completed the year with no recordable accidents by focusing on existing safety programs and upgrading key safety procedures. It also completed the year with no reportable hazardous material spills or permit violations.
Community Relations
Cincinnati continued active participation in the local Community Action Panel (CAP) which is well attended by local neighbors, local school representatives, local fire and rescue representatives and a neighboring organic chemical production plant. A primary focus in 2007 was on providing updates on a ground water remediation project at a neighboring plant and soil remediation on the site property. (These remediation projects are being planned by two other "third parties." Our role has been to communicate updates to the local CAP.)
Community Contributions
The value of cash contributions to local organizations in 2007 was $2,734. Donations went to Cincinnati Regional United Way, Crosby Elementary School, Harrison Mayor's fund (local support fund), a local soccer organization and Crosby Township Adopt-a-Family program.
The site is a business partner with the nearby Crosby Elementary School. In this role, the company supports school programs and provides savings bond awards to deserving students who exhibit excellent effort and performance. In 2007, the site donated 12 awards at a total cost of $300. It received recognition from the Crosby PTA for this support of their school.
The value of in-kind contributions to local organizations is estimated at $1,200. Beneficiaries included Harrison Community, Crosby Elementary School, the local Community Advisory Panel and community emergency response groups.
Local procurement
Local purchases of goods, materials and services totaled $974,500 in 2007, which represents 80 percent of total procurement excluding raw materials, transportation, and energy.
