Karen G. Chasez Vice President, Procurement

With 18 years in the fertilizer industry, Ms. Chasez joined PotashCorp in 2000 as Vice President, Procurement, bringing with her a broad range of experience.
Prior to PotashCorp, she worked part-time as an editorial assistant for a major fertilizer newsletter at McGraw-Hill in Washington, DC from 1982-1985 before taking on more responsibility as a full-time editor in 1985. She steered a spin-off newsletter for fertilizer retailers in 1986 and from then until 1990, held positions as the managing editor, executive director and editor-in-chief, heading the fertilizer newsletter unit at the end of her tenure. She spent the next 10 years at British Sulphur North America, Inc. as Vice President, overseeing the London-based firm's US fertilizer and wire industry newsletters, US administrative office and US corporate activities.
As Vice President, Procurement, Ms. Chasez establishes purchasing and inventory control policies, guides strategic procurement strategies and oversees negotiations with all of PotashCorp's suppliers.
Ms. Chasez earned a Bachelor of Social Work in 1975 from Bowie State University.
She is married and has three children.
