Geismar
Geismar’s regular and contract employees received awards from the Louisiana Chemical Association Safe Program for a total incident recordable rate of less than 0.75.

Weeping Water
Weeping Water received an award of honor with distinction from the Safety and Health Council of Greater Omaha for the tenth year, and a Safety Achievement Award from the Nebraska Safety Council.

The Sentinels of Safety Award was presented by the Mine Safety and Health Administration in recognition of the days worked without a lost workday injury.

White Springs
White Springs’ Swift Creek mill placed third in the Sentinels of Safety Award for the large metal/non-metal mill group presented by the Joseph H. Holmes Association.

Forty White Springs miners received the Professional Miner Certificate for working five or more years without a recordable injury presented by the Joseph H. Holmes Safety Association.

Saskatchewan Mining Association Safety Award for achieving a zero rating in 2004
Lanigan
Lanigan’s Mine Operations Production General Foreman, Rod Greve, was honored as the Saskatchewan Mining Association’s Emergency Response Person of the Year.

New Brunswick
New Brunswick's low injury record earned it the 2006 award for the Lowest Frequency in the (New Brunswick) Mining Industry, presented by the Canadian Institute of Mining. The facility also won the 2006 award for the Lowest Severity in the (New Brunswick) Mining Industry, presented by the Workplace Health, Safety and Compensation Committee.

New Brunswick won the John T. Ryan Award for Select Mines from the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum, for the second time in three years.

It received a plaque of recognition from the New Brunswick Workplace Health, Safety and Compensation Commission for 3 million hours without a lost-time accident.
