Lee Knafelc was appointed Senior Vice President, Human Resources and Administration in 2016, with responsibility for the company’s global human resources. He was most recently Vice President, Human Resources and Administration, a position he had held since 2011.
Mr. Knafelc also oversees diversity and inclusion, corporate benefits and insurance, human resources finance and information systems, facilities management, travel and meeting services. He joined PotashCorp in 1998 as Human Resources Superintendent at Lanigan Division, and moved to head office in 2004 as Director, Industrial Relations and People Development. In 2007, he was named Senior Director, Human Resources.
Mr. Knafelc began his human resource management career at Federated Co-operatives Limited in Saskatoon in 1991. In 1995, he became Human Resources Manager, Western Canada for CSP Foods and in 1997, Director of Human Resources.
He studied General Arts for one year at l’Université Canadienne en France at Villefranche-sur-Mer, France before obtaining a Bachelor of Education degree with great distinction at the University of Saskatchewan in 1991. He has taken credit courses in labor relations and law, compensation, employee relations and staffing. He is a Certified Human Resource Professional and a member of the Saskatchewan Association of Human Resource Professionals, serving on its Board of Directors.
Mr. Knafelc is a director of the Saskatchewan Mining Association.
